Palo Alto, California

I work with adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, and the particular weight of immigrant and South Asian experience. My background spans community mental health, fine arts, and 25 years in California — I bring all of it into the room.

I work with individuals and couples around life transitions, relationship stress, and the quiet pressure of holding high expectations — both your own and others’. I grew up between cultures and understand the unsaid parts of that experience.

Common Questions

Before you reach out

If your question is not answered here, call or text (650) 206-9448 or email information@leelamentalhealth.com. Every inquiry is answered by a real person.

How do I get started at Leela Mental Health?

Leela Mental Health makes it easy to take the first step. Fill out the form on this page, call (650) 206-9448, or email info@leelamentalhealth.com. We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can connect, answer your questions, and explore whether we’re a good fit. No pressure, no commitment — just a conversation to see if working together makes sense.

What insurance do you accept?

Leela Mental Health is in-network with Lyra Health EAP and Wellfleet/Cardinal Care SHIP — which covers students at Stanford and UC Berkeley. For all other plans, we are an out-of-network provider. We provide detailed superbills you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, and offer access to the Thrizer OON calculator to help you estimate your actual out-of-pocket costs. We recommend checking your out-of-network mental health benefits before your first session.

How long is a typical therapy session?

Leela Mental Health typically offers 50-minute individual sessions. Couples and family sessions may run longer depending on what you’re working through. Session length and frequency are discussed collaboratively so that your care fits your schedule, your goals, and the kind of work we’re doing together.

Do you offer therapy in Hindi or Bengali?

Leela Mental Health offers therapy in English, Hindi, and Bengali. Moitreyee is a fluent speaker of all three and understands — from personal experience — the texture of bicultural and immigrant life that shapes so much of what South Asian clients carry into the room. Language is never just translation; it’s the difference between being understood and being managed.

What if I'm not sure therapy is right for me?

Leela Mental Health offers a free 15-minute phone consultation precisely because uncertainty is normal. You don’t need to have a clear diagnosis or know what you’re looking for. You just need to be curious about the idea. The consultation is a low-pressure conversation — a chance to ask questions, get a feel for the approach, and decide for yourself whether it makes sense to take the next step.
